Sara Jones, a 35-year-old mother of three from St Louis, Missouri, always thought she had a special gift of intuition. She would often sense things before they happened, such as what her children or husband were going to say or do. She believed she was psychic and had a connection with the universe. However, after a series of experiments, she realized that she was not only psychic, but also had a very unaware family.
“I was watching TV one day and I saw a commercial for a new shampoo. I thought to myself, ‘That looks nice, maybe I should try it.’ And then my daughter, who was sitting next to me, said out loud, ‘That looks nice, maybe we should try it.’ I was stunned. How did she say what I was thinking? Was she psychic too?” Sara recalled.
Sara decided to test her theory by thinking of different things and seeing if her family would say or do them. She thought of songs, movies, foods, places, jokes, and even random words. To her surprise, every time she thought of something, one of her family members would say or do it within minutes.
“I thought of the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams and my husband started humming it in the kitchen. I thought of the movie ‘The Lion King’ and my son asked me if we could watch it later. I thought of pizza and my other daughter said she was hungry for pizza. It was amazing. I felt like I had some kind of influence over them,” Sara said.
However, Sara soon realized that her influence was not intentional. She noticed that her family was not saying or doing anything they wanted or liked. They were just following her thoughts and suggestions. They were very unaware.
“I realized that I was psychic, but they were not. They were just very receptive to my mind signals. It was not a coincidence, it was telepathy. They were not saying what they thought, they were saying what I thought,” Sara said.
Sara said she was shocked to find out that she was psychic, but also curious. She said she wanted to explore her gift and see what else she could do with it. She said she still loved her family very much and respected their free will.
“I don’t want to manipulate them or make them do things they don’t want to do. But an exotic vacation would be nice!”
