If you are looking for a thrilling vacation, you might want to book a room at Casa del Fiero, a haunted hotel in Colorado that claims to have an elevator that can take you to hell. The hotel, which was built in 1923 by a mysterious tycoon named Lucius Fiero, has been the site of many paranormal incidents and unexplained deaths over the years. Some guests have reported seeing ghosts, hearing screams, and feeling cold spots in their rooms. But the most terrifying feature of the hotel is the elevator, which has a mind of its own and sometimes takes unsuspecting passengers to the basement, where they are greeted by a fiery inferno and demonic creatures.
The hotel manager, Mr. Saliente, says that the elevator is part of the hotel’s charm and attracts many thrill-seekers and horror fans. “We don’t advertise it, but we don’t hide it either. It’s a 50/50 chance that the elevator will take you to your floor or to hell. Some people like the gamble, some people don’t. It’s up to you if you want to take the risk,” he says.
Saliente admits that some guests have never returned from their trip to the basement, but he says that they signed a waiver before checking in and that the hotel is not liable for any damages or injuries. He also says that the hotel offers a special package for those who want to experience the elevator ride to hell. “For $666 per night, you can stay in one of our deluxe suites and get a free ticket to the elevator. You also get a complimentary bottle of champagne and a souvenir T-shirt that says ‘I survived Casa del Fiero’. It’s a great deal,” he says.
Some guests, however, are not impressed by the hotel’s offer and say that they were tricked into staying there. One of them is Mary Jones, who booked a room at Casa del Fiero online without knowing its history. “I thought it was a nice hotel with a Spanish name. I had no idea it was haunted or that it had an elevator that could take me to hell. I was terrified when I got in the elevator and it started going down instead of up. I pressed every button, but nothing worked. I thought I was going to die,” she says.
Mary says that she was lucky to escape from the basement alive and that she will never stay at Casa del Fiero again. “It was horrible. There was fire everywhere and I saw these horrible creatures with horns and tails. They were laughing and mocking me. They tried to grab me and drag me into the flames. I ran as fast as I could and found another elevator that took me back to the lobby. I grabbed my bags and ran out of there,” she says.
Mary says that she is suing the hotel for emotional distress and false advertising. She also warns other travelers to avoid Casa del Fiero at all costs. “It’s not worth it. It’s not fun. It’s not safe. It’s a nightmare. Don’t go there,” she says.
Casa del Fiero is located at 666 Devil’s Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. For reservations, call 1-800-HELL-NO.
