Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced today that the state will open a horror theme park in 2024, as a direct response to the Americana theme park being opened in Oklahoma. The horror theme park, dubbed “Arkansas Asylum”, will feature attractions based on famous horror movies, novels and legends, such as The Exorcist, The Shining, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

“We are not going to let Oklahoma steal our thunder with their patriotic propaganda park,” Hutchinson said at a press conference. “We are going to show them that Arkansas is the true home of horror and terror. We are going to scare the living daylights out of our visitors and make them scream for mercy. That’s what entertainment is all about.”

Hutchinson added that the horror theme park will also have educational and cultural value, as it will showcase the rich history and folklore of Arkansas, such as the Boggy Creek Monster, the Fouke Monster, the White River Monster, and the Gurdon Light. He also said that the park will employ local actors, artists, and craftsmen to create realistic and immersive environments and effects.

“We are going to make this park the most authentic and terrifying experience ever,” Hutchinson said. “We are going to use real blood, real bones, real fire, real chainsaws, real ghosts, and real demons. We are not going to hold back on anything. We are going to make this park a nightmare come true.”

Hutchinson said that the horror theme park will be located in an abandoned asylum near Little Rock, which he claimed was haunted by the spirits of former patients and staff. He said that the park will be open year-round, but especially during Halloween season, when special events and shows will be held.

“We are confident that Arkansas Asylum will attract millions of visitors from all over the country and the world,” Hutchinson said. “We are going to put Arkansas on the map as the ultimate destination for horror fans and thrill seekers. We are going to make Oklahoma regret ever opening their lame Americana theme park. We are going to make them scream ‘Arkansas!’ in fear.”
